I've been getting very odd behavior from dialup ppp lately, and have
been getting messages like:

rcvd [CCP ResetReq id=0x2]
sent [CCP ResetAck id=0x2]
rcvd [CCP ResetReq id=0x2]
sent [CCP ResetAck id=0x2]

after which my PPP connection all but dies. It does not get
disconnected but I can't send or receive any data through the
connection. For example, if I happen to be logged on like this through
an SSH connection and typing, no amount of typed text will get through
until I reconnect (as the TCP connection for SSH hasn't timed out yet,
and I always get assigned the same IP address every time).

What do these PPPD messages mean?
