I am using a sound card, which under Windows 2000 works as a "C-Media AC97" sound card. Under linux-2.6.0-test6 neither alsa sound "snd-cmpci" nor "snd-intel8x0" works. I found an extremely suspicious "source-level" support in Taiwan:
http://www.cmedia.com.tw/product/CMI9739.htm http://www.cmedia.com.tw/driver/Linux/Ac97/cmaudio-039.tar.gz Now the source code "cmaudio-039.tar.gz", on checking out the Makefile, seems to be for linux-2.4.N. Can anyone give instructions on where to plug the resulting "cmaudio" source tree into the linux-2.6.0-test6 kernel source tree and what files in the kernel source tree to modify, so that "cmaudio" can be compiled as a module in 2.6.0-test6? Thanks.
