Either: 1. you have a problematic hard drive scsi controller 2. you have a problematic hard disk 3. you have a problem with your motherboard 4. you have overheating problems which could lead to 1,2,3 5. you scsi controller is too new for the driver included in RH9.
It's best to isolate this by: 1. changing the controller to an older, known-good one 2. making sure that you have no heat problems inside your PC's chassis.
