It's unfortunate that Prof. Bernstein prefers personally attacking critics to addressing the substance of what they say, but what can one do? It might qualify as zealotry if the only reason for having included Netscape Navigator / Communicator (in the old days) had been licensing. But Netscape Communications, Inc. allowed rearrangement of its proprietary program's installation to comply with reasonable directory-layout arrangements (e.g., FHS), and renaming of its component files to meet distribution-specific standards, while Prof. Bernstein did not with his -- and still does not. Of course, it might have been the case that Bernstein antagonised the Red Hat staff to the point where that they simply wanted nothing more to do with him or his sofware. Ask me how I know about this. ;-> -- Cheers, find / -user your -name base -print | xargs chown us:us Rick Moen [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Official Website: http://plug.linux.org.ph Searchable Archives: http://marc.free.net.ph .
