Hello Sherwin!

I had to append -pathspec for it to work (me uses mkisofs 1.15a32 
(i586-mandrake-linux-gnu):

mkisofs -r -J -b boot/boot.img -c boot/boot.catalog 
    -o "/tmp/bootcd.iso" -pathspec /home/user/bootcd

And it works! Now I know what that boot subdirectory is for ...
