ive been reading some howtos and READMEs.. does anyone
know where can i find a doc that will tell me howto
setup mail servers inside a lan. together with
relaying..

i have a linux box with qmail+vpopmail sitting on it.
i was able to send email locally...

but trying to use a client to connect gives me errors

The message could not be sent because the server
rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's
e-mail address was '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'. Subject 'testing',
Account: '192.168.6.4', Server: '192.168.6.4',
Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '451 DNS temporary
failure (#4.3.0)', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
Error: 451, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

is it possible not to use DNS for qmail+vpopmail if
the sender receiver of the mail is resides locally
else forward mails to a different mail server.

thanks,
