have you tried changing the bios setting for the entry "Plug and Play OS Installed" to "No"?

i've searched for drivers for the dlink dfe538tx and i found one, however, i don't want to go to the pain of installing the driver manually. dont mock me for not wanting to go through the installation of the driver. just want to ask if anyone got a similar experience? is this a compatibility issue between redhat and the dlink lancard? if it is, i plan to buy a cnet lancard where it was able to autodetect
i could be wrong, but i thought redhat is very good in detecting network cards.
i've installed redhat 8 and 9 on different computers before and all the time the hardware was autodetected.
tnx!
