have you tried the command "links"? it's the elinks text browser. it's
just text, so no graphics. but you get some layout intact (tables and
frames). it's a little easier to use with most pages than lynx. url

are you stuck in a console only (ie no X)? i think you could use this
(or even lynx), then just download the images. then you could use a
program called seejpeg to view the images right at the console. i
can't seem to find a url for seejpeg other than
http://metalab.unc.edu/pub/Linux/apps/graphics/viewers/svga/
