this time (for learning sake) i want to know how will
samba-B authenticate samba users that connects to it
using samba-A's authentication?

just specify the parameter "security=server" on samba-B's smb.conf, then specify the "password server = samba-A". restart samba-B's service for the changes to take effect.

Note: a similar local account is still needed
on samba-B although the authentication is being
conducted on samba-A. but the account doesn't
need to have a shell,home dir and and password
on samba-B, just the account name.

one way i know would be possible (but havent
implement) is to do PDC-BDC setup, but i need to know
if there is another way. because samba-A is not and i
dont want it to be a PDC.

im not ready for ldap or nss yet.
and i dont want to repeat: to input the
win98 client's username on samba-B, of course.

read more about Winbind and it will set you free.
