Hello!

This is my first post, so I'd like to say hi to all of you in here at
plug ;)

It's really nice to hear that there's such a wonderful group of pinoys
running amok here at plug, when I first seen of it when I was googling
around for a "ph linux user group" at Google/Linux. Too bad, though,
that the plug.linux.org.ph site has been quite out of date since April
2003(?), so much for the lightning-fast pace of free software... though,
I expect, that with such fine people here I'd say that would not be much
of a problem :) I myself have been doing some Web work on my own space,
but a lot of local hacks here has been keeping me down for most of the
time...

As I'm writing this, I'm baking myself a new cake out of Wine CVS, since
like most folks out there, I'm on a dual-boot, Debian and WinXP sharing
the space of my Samsung HD. Though I myself don't have the trouble of
having linuxen as my OS of choice, my old folks still need the
intoxicating and inflaming features of Microsoft($UX) software. Still,
with Linkin Park's Faint ringing in my ears, I'm nearing the goal of
setting fire on my fat32 partition and saying goodbye to the Devil ;)

In other things: for those Ragnarok gamers out there, I've seem to be
able to run that fine program off Wine 2003xxxx (Debian testing); hats
off to the Wine developers for their good work. I've yet to see this
goin on wine-cvs though, so stay tuned... life on the bleeding edge is
hard, as they say... Also, I've got gnome2.4 (from sid, now its in
sarge) working splendidly, although there are still some rough edges to
be sanded, like gkdial crashing on disconnect (yep, I'm still on a
modem... worse yet, on a software modem :( anyone willing to buy me a
good serial modem? thanks in advance ;)

Okies, wine-cvs's still not done brewin', but I've got to sign off. Send
me a rant or a rave, for all I care. I'll just take a hat off and be of
service to you...

And stay alive :)
