I have a Mandrake mail server running the latest
version of postfix. Any suggestion what I
should use to scan mails for viruses?
I've read about MailScanner but it's
supposedly designed for sendmail but now
has support for postfix.
So my questions are:
- MailScanner + Postfix. Anyone tried this
on their Mandrake machine?
- What antivirus software to use for
Mailscanner? Sophos? ClamAV? I won't mind paying a
little if it's really good (simple to install,
effective, and easy to update).
I've set up Sophos + MailScanner + Postfix on our RH 7.3 Server. We have yet to pay for Sophos, though. I'm weighing the benefits of buying server-only license vs x-computers-license-with-10%-of-it-allocated-to-server.
So far, Sophos has updated itself hourly without fail, and no worm has yet passed thru our mail server without getting caught by Sophos.
I've tried installing clamav, but I don't remember what stopped me (I think it was an install problem (dependency?))... <sigh> If only it was included in the apt-rpm sources...
