Hi All!

Lately i've noticed that the server slows down due to
some heavy disk i/o. i'm pretty sure replacing the
single hd with a raid5 setup could alleviate the
problem somewhat, but my bosses aren't willing to
spend for the raid hw.

Would a software raid5 setup be a wise alternative? My
primary concern is to make sure the server isn't
bogged down by heavy disk i/o
