Hello all,

I've been asked by a friend to help him register a domain name so as to
have it point to his existing third-party hosted webpage. Initially I
just thought of registering a domain name under verisign and use their
webforwarding option. However his webpage actually resides on a URL
under the third-party site. Is there a possible workaround for this?

>From what I gather, using webforwarding is possible when say you want to
register a name "foobar.com" and point it to
"www.unnessecarily-long-and-cumbersome-name.com". I assume that verisign
(or any registrar for that matter) would either just add an A record, or
assign a canonical name. So how do you register a "foobar.com" and make
it point to a site+URL such as
"www.unnessecarily-long-and-cumbersome-name.com/foobar"? Is this even
possible? Thanks in advance, and my apologies if I'm missing something
obvious.

-Paul
