in tcp/ip family suite of protocols... there are only 5 layers defined which
map to OSI layers and these are.. 1) physical 2) data-link 3) network 4)
transport and 5) application.... therefore there are no such thing as
session layer and presentation layer in the tcp/ip environment... but ssl is
defined above the transport layer but below the application layer... you can
see this at rfc 2828 and look for *secure socket layer* section and you will
read at this document that it never stated that ssl is either at the session
layer or at the presentation layer...
