Is it just me, or does kudzu interact only with specific kernel versions? I have currently installed 4 2.4.20 kernel builds (2 from the RHN, 1 built using the kernel.org sources, and 1 built using the redhat kernel sources) and 1 2.4.22 kernel build. However, of all the 5 kernels installed, I only encounter kudzu segfaulting with the 2.4.22 kernel (the kernel is patched with the Con Kolivas patchset 2 for that kernel version) during startup, and with the 2.4.20 kernels, NO SEGFAULTS.
Curiously enough, when kudzu is run from the shell using the 2.4.22 kernel, the thing does not complain. Has anybody experienced anything similar, or even remotely related? Frankly, I'm just too lazy to actually dig in deeper -- since I've been using the old kernels anyway, I shouldn't want to bother anymore. TIA -- Dean Michael C.
