Hello,

Its really good to be back. after almost 2 whole months of having a
fried motherboard for a GNU/Linux box, I finally got to replace it.
Yeah! It's now a VIA KT266A box, complete with onboard Fast Ethernet an
a 6-channel sound system to boot. The only con is udma2 performance on
my samsung hda, but I can live with that...

Thank God for DSL, I got most of my mixed Debian setup upgraded to the
latest versions from sarge and sid. More recently I was playing with the
latest 2.6 kernel, and I got it running on my system without so much as
corrupting it (in contrast to doing Windows migration to 98SE to XP :),
though I definitely had some scratches to proudly display. Now I'm
tinkering with adding bootspash patches (http://www.bootsplash.org) to
the kernel and have a more beautiful desktop experience...

I heard recently that M$ has gone open source
(http://wix.sourceforge.net). Pity it isnt
(http://openwindows.sourceforge.net): that OS would have benfited well
from all us players in cyberspace...

Oh! Enough of my ramblings! See my blog (http://zakame.spunge.org).
