The default kernel for Debian Woody is a very minimalistic one (2.2.x). You can opt to install a kernel compiled with SMP support (afaik there are kernel images available that are compiled with SMP support as part of the stable distribution) as the hyperthreading feature of the recent 32-bit Intel chips is a form of logical SMP done on a single actual processor. I'm not sure if installing a 2.2 kernel compiled with SMP support would enable hyperthreading, although the 2.4 kernels already support that feature for quite some time already. -- -->paolo Paolo Alexis Falcone [EMAIL PROTECTED] _____________________________ Philippine Free Network Group free.net.ph -- Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Official Website: http://plug.linux.org.ph Searchable Archives: http://marc.free.net.ph .
