[plug] RAID Mirror question

question about raid mirroring..  suppose i have 2 hdd mirrored and the 
1st disk suffered from corruption of file allocation table or hdd 
malfunction.. what effect would that do to the mirror hdd?.. is it ok to 
use software raid?
