Richard, By ndiswrapper, do you mean the driver solution offered by linuxant's driverloader (the one that let's you load windows wifi drivers in linux via wrappers)? In that case, I experienced segfaults with those too when trying to load a buggy or incompatible windows driver. It's basically hit or miss, but I suggest you try to get your driver working via native linux drivers first. If you'd rather stick with the ndiswrapper, try using newer windows drivers that are available for your wifi device.
To use linux drivers, first try to find out the chipset of your wifi card. I suppose your laptop uses one that is internal (which in some cases uses USB wifi drivers). Type "lspci -v" and try to identify your wifi device from those listed. I was able to get realtek and prism based cards to work so far. If you're still in UPLB, I know Pow (Dizon) and Dean (Berris) can help you with those. Btw, for video under linux...use mplayer. It rox!! Especially for playing....all sorts of videos. -Paul ============================= The statement below is false The statement above is true ============================= -- Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Official Website: http://plug.linux.org.ph Searchable Archives: http://marc.free.net.ph .
