what are the symptoms of bad mobo battery? my sister's pc is having
this problem of ide autodetection taking too long during boot up -
only to find that it will only fail (well, most of the time). the
thing works well when i unplug then plug the ide cables back to the
drives.
is this a bad battery problem? or medyo patapon na yung mobo? ayaw na
rin gumana nung ps/2 mouse port eh pero may pumapasok namang kuryente.
Hello percy,
The autodetection isn't really a proof that your mobo's battery is dead.
If the mobo's battery is dead, then not only the HDD information would
be reset in the BIOS but other settings (notably the clock) as well...
Here is where a little testing here and there would prove beneficial...
Try replacing the IDE cables. If the problem still exists, try replacing
the HDD naman. If the problem still exists, try to ask a friend for
help so that you could test it on his/her PC. If it doesn't work on
your friend's PC, then the HDD's busted. Try the same with the mouse.
At least by doing these, the problem could be isolated.

Ronnie
