Let me clarify this: pine isn't in many distros that take FOSS as a priority !because it is !GPL but rather because it's !free. What constitutes as "free software" ain't *always* GPL--take for example, the Mozilla Public License, or XFree86 4.4's revised License (the MPL, in particular, has been the subject of a very hot discussion in debian-legal, since recently it has been declared as non-free, with the result of generating a lot of heated blogposts in planet.debian.net ;) I'm aware that Fedora's doing Debian's dance, so I guess it comes as natural that the "Where is Pine" q gets asked *a lot*.
