hey guys,

August 9-13 is the CSIT week here at APC, and I've had this idea since about 2 years ago to actively promote Linux use here in the Philippines.  What I want to propose is that we get the Government CIO  Group here (yes, there is such an animal), the PSITE (Philippine Society of IT Educators), and of course, PLUG, to discus with them, apart from the benefits of Linux, that there ARE professionals here in the Philippines...

Ian, Eric, Sacha? what do you say guys... APC is very much willing to host this...

some guy says local linux skills are 'scant'.... perhaps someone on this
list (or companies like Q-Linux?) could talk to the PNP about their
opens-source concerns? this could prove to be an excellent opportunity
to promote Linux and open-source in general...
