Hi all!

We're having some trouble printing to a networked HP Laserjet 1000. I did
some research and found that this printer is barely supported and requires
a kludgy workaround to get it to print. My problem, howeveer, seems to be
with the USB port.

Although Kudzu can configure the printer upon bootup, and the printconf
utility can see the USB port for the printer, it seems that it can't send
print jobs to the printer. I get this wierd message:

   USB port is busy

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? I already installed the
hotplug script that dowenloads the firmware to the printer and I got the
new drivers from linuxprinting.org.

Also, would you recommend I use CUPS for the print server or LPD (LPRng)?

Thanks in advance! God bless!
