What XFree86 packages did you install? I don't have a Woody system around at the moment, but on Sid /usr/bin/X11/XFree86 (which /etc/X11/X usually points to) belongs to the package xserver-xfree86. You need at least one xserver-* package installed, and xserver-xfree86 is usually your best bet. --> Jijo -- Federico Sevilla III : jijo.free.net.ph : When we speak of free software GNU/Linux Specialist : GnuPG 0x93B746BE : we refer to freedom, not price. -- Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Official Website: http://plug.linux.org.ph Searchable Archives: http://marc.free.net.ph .
