on the Xorg xserver, there's no more need for ttmkfdir and company. just 
put the truetype fonts in /usr/share/fonts and fc-cache /usr/share/fonts

this will make the new fonts available to OpenOffice (which has its own 
font-rendering, it doesn't use X fonts) and all Gtk2 applications. Gtk1 
apps will be out in the cold... but in FC2 these are few and far between.
