lilo is pretty straight forward when it comes to configuration, you only need 1 textfile to configure it (no other special file), thats why its the default loader of slackware linux, simplicity is beauty.ahhh slack and lilo...simplicity is beauty indeed =) but if ever you get tired of LILO's red bootup menu, you can change how it looks, even put graphics in it!
