i've tried using parallel and serial ports but haven't tried using USB (although a usb-to-serial encoder might work) on a 7-segment display, LED matrix, LCD, incandescent bulbs (with relays / opto-isolators, of course) and stepper motors.
how much does the biggest 7-segment display cost nowadays at Alexan? (~1000?)
