Hi. Please help on how to speed up my warcraft intalled on network drive.
I have a Warcraft 1.17 installed on my FC1 running Samba thru network map, then i have an ISO of the Warcraft CD on the same machine where it is loaded by daemon tools. I have problems with very slow read during start up and loading of map. Im using a WinXP, im the only one using the files mentioned. The FC1 server is on the same subnet.NIC settings 10/100 Full duplex. FC1 is 2.6GHz ,512 DDR, 80Gig HD. My config with useless things removed is: [global] socket options = SO_KEEPALIVE TCP_NODELAY SO_SNDBUF=8192 SO_RCVBUF=8192 default = homes auto services = storage read size = 1024 password server = None dns proxy = no os level = 20 I cant install my warcraft on my WinXP, i have no more room. i already exausted 80 Gig HD ;p TIA -- Roger P.
