Yes, I've tried this kind of setup. Specifically, i used two hardware
NAT gateway/routers, one behind the other.

For normal web browsing, downloading, etc., there shouldn't be any
problem. Of course, if you need to open a certain service to the
public (required by certain applications), you'll have to do incoming
port forwarding on both NAT boxes. It should work, but I haven't tried
actually it.
