FYI, lots of UN organizations here in Geneva are using Linux now on most of their servers. WHO has about 20% Linux installed machines but we are looking at moving more of the Windows systems to Linux. And, even though its only 20%, these are the core servers (FTP,DNS,WEB, PROXY, etc). And ILO told us they are already 80% Linux. UNAIDS are slowly moving as well. And on an IBM Linux strategies seminar we attended a week ago, it was said that the Munich government went fully Linux on their systems (SUSE on servers and desktop!!). IBM has full support for Linux. They in fact created a new CPU chip called Power5 which they said runs solely or maybe runs best on Linux OS. Anyways, this is just to add more support that Linux is a safe choice and its the way to go.
