I recently upgraded my kernel to a vanilla 2.6.9 from 2.6.7. At first
I thought that some of the packages on my slackware 10.0 installation
got corrupted so I reinstalled some of it. But it still didn't work.
When I rebooted to my old kernel, the less and friends commands were
working properly. I just used my old kernel configuration. I am not
very sure on what broke the paging properties on my console though.
Paging does not work on an xterm or a standard linux console?

Is there any I probably missed?

Here is the log when I issue a "man man" command

Error executing formatting or display command.
System command (cd /usr/man && (echo ".ll 11.5i"; echo ".pl 1100i";
/bin/gunzip -c '/usr/man/man1/man.1.gz'; echo ".\\\""; echo ".pl
\n(nlu+10") | /usr/bin/gtbl | /usr/bin/nroff -S -mandoc |
/usr/bin/less -is) exited with status 256.
No manual entry for man
