I think this should change very very soon - as many new distros really
focus on the usability and functionality. Also with wide cases of
virus and many security problems nowadays, not to mentions the
"soon_super_bloated" concept of Windows (try to use Windows for a year
and naturally from orginal pre-installed utilities and applications it
will grow to dozens of bloated-ware software as days passed; and your
P4 256MB PC will crawl; even you uninstall it performace will not come
back as original; and it is really a nightmare to format or reinstall
ur windows as you learn nothing) - while in Linux, as you use it
through the years you gain experience and reinstalling (in case you
decide) is just another level of learning.

In so with the present scenario - unless Microsoft change the concept
of their OS (security, usability) - soon Linux will be wider accepted
and use by all common people.

And let's don't forget in the core side of IT (the techies -
considerably WE) definitely Linux will be OS of choice both for
production and leaning purposes.
