You might want to look up "domain masking", and Apache's mod_rewrite engine. Or, use frames. But usability-wise, it's crude. As for redirecting your home page to /var/www/html/yourwebsite, use aliasing or a PHP redirect header in /var/www/html/index.php. Try to look up VirtualHost, too, while you're at it.
