Actually when I started my tour there they've already completed their
migration and using it already on their daily production. They were
using Mandrakelinux 9.1 (of which I'm hesitant to upgrade as it just
works) for I think about a year already.

There are a few workstations we're experimenting on with Mandrakelinux
10.0 Official (of course trimmed down). So far there hasn't been major
problems with that distro (well, except for that one episode last
month concerning a laptop booting WinXP and Linux...). If things go
smoothly then perhaps I'd have a slow across-the-company distribution
upgrade (as particularly the performance benefits of KDE3.2 + Linux
kernel 2.6 are hard to ignore and are really very welcome on old
hardware).
