They are sharing mount points. /media/hd0
Rather /dev/sbd or /dev/sdc If you mount more then one thing to the same location, only the last thing mounted there is accessible. ---- On the errors, maybe related. External hard drives running over USB, I have gotcha a false positive of one bad sector.
