Folks, I just got a EVO 850 500G SSD I am going to replace a 500G HD on my laptop. I have been looking at how to move the disk image from the HD to the SSD.
My first look was at dd, as that is what I have used to generate images in the past. But this is the first time I have moved a bootable disk image from a HD to an SSD. Looking for guidance here. Both disk are the same size, though the HD is not that loaded yet, so if I needed I could shrink the image on the source before putting it on the target. Or would I be better just to do a new install and move my home directory to the SSD? -- Chuck Hast -- KP4DJT -- I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
