I was able to spend a few hours on the site and following trees of
links. I would suggest <http://basic256.org/whybasic> for thoughtful
reading. I can attest to some of his points from personal experience.
That site and some simplistic coding relevant to my problem-du-jour
allowed me to discover some erroneous presumptions about the data to be
manipulated. A side effect was leading me to appreciate why I haven't
understood "why SQL" {my only database experience was with dBase II in
the 70's ;}
