It seems that the battery on my Thinkpad L420 is getting short on life. Searching for replacements has me finding prices from $15 (NewEgg!) on up to over $60. The present battery is a Lenovo with a red "55" on it. It is 6 cells, has two labels: one says 5.2Ah, the other says 4.68Ah. The latter has a PSE designation with some Chinese characters under it. I suspect the PSE is a standard of some type.
There are 9 cell batteries offered along with the 6 cell ones. But the question remains, how do I choose from the myriad of batteries offered? Lenovo no longer sells them, likely because their price is out of sight. A related issue is how to get my laptop to report reliable information about the time remaining? It seems to be quite optimistic. I am trying to take the battery down to <20% a few times then recharging to see if that restores the calibration, but so far that has not improved things much. Thanks for your sage advice. -Denis _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
