Random info: I have heard that the Samsung Evo drives are as good as the Pros in many regards. Another option is the "whatever Fry's has on sale this week" which as some Patriot drives for a colleague and me.

As for Seagate, the Barracudas are cheap popular and like WD Reds, tend to fail at around 3 years. I have seen a LOT of these on FreeNAS systems and you just need to budget for the failures. Fortunately, 2TB can become 5TB in that three years for the same money.
