I have a couple of Thinkpads that have that switch in the wrong place, it
would
get turned off, I would pull the computer out, usually to show someone some-
thing, the machine would tell me there was no connectivity.

I think it is kind of like pilots and the landing gear, they used to tell
me that
there are those that have landed gear up and those that WILL land with gear
up, you are in one of the two groups (I am now in the first group). Same
with
that stinking switch, there are those who HAVE tried to use the machine with
the switch off and those that WILL... Welcome to the first group. All it
takes it
once and you will learn to seek out that switch as part of your start up
procedure.
