Hello, p-luggers:
I'm looking for a domain provider for a small,
low-profile,low-traffic website. it's been years since the last time
I needed to do this, and the market appears rather crowded and noisy.
My wife uses Go Daddy, but I'm unimpressed by their service. My
priorities are reliability, customer service, and price. Site
development tools might be useful, but the quality I've seen is all
over the map. I plan on using Protonmail for email
suggestions, lessons learned, rants and raves appreciated.
I've been happy with Stablehost for several years for a low traffic
site. The main benefit I get from it is as an email address. I have a
few domains and a handful of email addresses and only had problems when
they changed over some servers a year or two ago, and I didn't
understand the instructions on what to do. They helped me see my
confusion and got me going again in a short period during one day.
