On the new desktop:
[root@baetis ~]# find / -name stripes.png
find: paths must precede expression: /
Usage: find [-H] [-L] [-P] [-Olevel] [-D
help|tree|search|stat|rates|opt|exec] [path...] [expression]
Try this:
find / -name 'stripes.png'
Not sure it will do anything different, but possibly the shell is
expanding the dot. It may be worth comparing versions of your shell on
the two systems if this works.
echo $SHELL
`echo $SHELL` --version
dafr
