Any recommendations on a monitor repair service? Preference given, but
not limited to, outer southeast.
My wife's LG monitor goes flaky after warming up. It sounds like a
capacitor issue to me, but that's just a guess. I suspect it's something
that can be fixed if one knows what one's doing.
Before it went south she got another LG monitor of the same class
(~19"). This one has an annoying property of sometimes coming out of
power save with the brightness all the way down. It appears to be the
monitor's built in brightness, since that's what she has to adjust. It
seems like it won't keep that brightness forever. The other possibility
could be the video driver doing something strange and sending some
command to reduce the brightness when it goes into power save, as
opposed to screensaver. Like me, she doesn't put up a moving/changing
pattern for a screensaver, but just goes to a blank screen.
