I have libreoffice-6.2.3 installed and this morning saw disturbing behavior
that I've not before seen with this application: it was consuming
99.7-100.0% of the CPU and raising the processor's temperature near 80C
while sitting idle.

It was opened to print a very small spreadsheet (about 20 rows and 3
columns) and I left LO open after printing the file when I moved to doing
other things.

Not long after than I noticed on the gkrellem display that both CPU cores
were maxed continously. This made no sense as I was reading e-mail messages
and looking at news web pages.

'top -u rshepard' showed me the PID of the processor hog, and 'ps' showed me
it was the open LO. Shutting down LO dropped the CPU usage to almost zero
and the temperature back to the low 40s.

Has anyone experienced LO consuming CPU cycles while doing nothing but being
open?

Rich
