JabRef also lists JDK as a dependency, not openjdk. There might be a reason for this.

This issue has gone beyond rediculous.

- I removed openjdk7, openjdk8, openjfx.
- Built and installed openjdk7.
- Built openjdk8, removed openjdk7, installed openjdk8
- Built and installed openjfx.

JabRef still tells me it cannot find javafx (which is supposed to be
included with Oracle's jdks.)

- Removed openjdk8 and openjfx.

From SBo repo:

- Downloaded, build, and installed jdk12: same jabref error (cannot find
  javafx).

- Tried to download jdk11, but Oracle wants me to create an account which I
  neither need or want.
- Tried to download jdk8u-221 with same result as jdk11.

- Built from local SBo directory for jdk81-191, installed it: same error as
  above.

The kernel version on that host is 4.4.14; I'll install 4.4.182 this
afternoon and see if that makes a difference.

I'm still open to all ideas for getting JabRef to load and work on the
desktop.
