Two hosts running Slackware-14.2 with xfce4. The monitor on one is a wide screen, 1600x900 dpi resolution. The monitor on the other is a square screen, 1250x1024 dpi resolution.
Virtual terminals on both hosts use urxvt. On the wide monitor when I'm several subdirectories down or there's a long command line, the text following the shell prompt wraps. On the square monitor the text following the shell prompt doesn't wrap but shifts left out of view with the first visible character a '>'. The xfce4 window manager setting have nothing relevant. 'man urxvt' doesn't seem to have an applicable option to control this behavior. The jump scroll and skip scroll refer to vertical scrolling of window content, not command lines. My vt command line is: /usr/bin/urxvt -bg \#0b293b -fg lightgrey -sb -cr yellow -pr yellow -fn 10x20 -geometry 75x25 -ls -si -sk -sw -sr -sl 1024 -n urxvt (wrapped for this message only). I'd like suggestions where I might find insights on setting the windows on the square screen to wrap rather than scroll.
