With nohup, there won't be any output to check the progress. The only way
you'll know what happened is by looking at the resulting downloaded files.

Your best option is to not log out of the system at the end of the day.
Second best is to use tmux. nohup is somewhere around 6 or 7.

To answer your original question, you would use nohup when invoking the
script. If you're happy with this option even with all the limitations it
brings, by all means, go for it.
