Mike J just mentioned that there were responses to his tweet about this
issue. I don't have a Twitter account, so I haven't seen them, but I do
have a thought to add:

The last time I went into this building I don't recall if the door
locks had magnetic stripe capability, but I don't think it does. There
are buildings (e.g., the Ondine) which contain classrooms and which are
locked 24/7. Students can go in any time with their PSU identification
by swiping their ID card in the magnetic stripe actuator mounted on the
wall by the door. Even as a mere senior auditor* I qualify for such a
PSU identification card.

If the doors do not have magnetic actuators I am sure they will be
installed before classes begin, if not already. I don't know much about
how they work, but surely they can be disabled for a period of time.

*To qualify as a PSU senior auditor you merely need to be 65 years old
or better, and still alive.
