LOL. Last time I did a clean install it took the better part of a day before the system was basically usable for the kind of things I do with it. It took a week before I had it as good as it was ever going to get. As an example, it took an hour just to install all the special fonts that I need. Why so long just to install fonts? Because several of them were no longer on the websites where I got them before and I had to search all over to find them. Ditto for applications. Some of us use a lot of non-mainstream apps that take a long time to get installed. And then there is the matter of personal preferences and configurations to replace. (Now, where was the button to make that work the way I like it - can't remember - spend an hour searching the web for the answer before finally re-figuring it out.) Oh damn, I think I just rekindled the war between the 'fresh install' people and the 'just keep upgrading' folks. _______________________________________________ PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
