Had to do some futzing with postfix (including commenting out check_policy_services in main.cf) but I'll post on the postfix mail list about that and a couple of long-standing issues. So, my schedule for transitioning the desktop server/workstation has been decided for me. And any bits and pieces I need from the old host can be copied from the old backup drive. Germane to the unbootable host, what does FreeGeek do with dead hard drives? Whew!
